The Bypass Valve Assembly has aBuna-N O-Ring and snap into the element endcap. Dirty oil travelsthrough the top of the filter assembly by an internal baffle tubeand goes though the filter element in an inside-out MANNer. As theelement becomes dirty, the oil pressure on the inside of theelement increases until the bypass spring force is overcome. Theentire element starts to shift down along with the bypass valveassembly, compressing the spring even more and eventually creatinga gap between the bypass valve and the baffle assembly. The dirtyoil now travels though the gap created between the baffle andbypass valve and is directed to the outlet port. When this eventhappens, the filter is in bypass and no oil or hydraulic fluid isbeing filtered.
